Israel was mere moments away from an airstrike on April 1 that killed several senior Iranian commanders at Iran's embassy complex in Syria before it told the United States what was about to happen.

Amid global fears of a large-scale upheaval in the Middle East, Israel's ambassador to Greece, Noam Katz, warned Iran not to attack Israel, saying it has the ability to react decisively.

Speaking at the ninth Delphi Economic Forum in Greece, Katz said Israel is a strong country, with "very strong defense measures and the ability to react." 

The United States and its allies are concerned about a potential attack by Iran or its proxies on military and government targets in Israel. The attack, believed to be imminent, would be in response to the killing of Iranian generals in Damascus, escalating the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.
