Iran bans teaching English in primary schools after Iranian High Commissioner Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said early learning of this language created conditions for a Western "cultural invasion," Reuters reported.

Hundreds of Iranians on Aug. 31 attended the funeral of Ebrahim Yazdi, one of the country's most influential dissident politicians and a former foreign minister.

Iran’s foreign minister on Thursday rejected Donald Trump’s condolences for deadly attacks in Tehran, calling the U.S. president’s words repugnant.

Trump had said he prayed for the victims of Wednesday’s attacks that were claimed by Islamic State, but added that “states that sponsor terrorism risk falling victim to the evil they promote.”

Greece on Thursday condemned a deadly attack in Iran claimed by Islamic State, which left 13 dead and more than 40 injured.

"We unequivocally condemn terrorism in all its forms and we express our full support for the people and government of Iran, and our sincere condolences to the victims' families," the Greek Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran accused Saudi Arabia of being behind the twin-attack against the country’s parliament and the Mausoleum of Ayatollah Khomeini in Tehran, Wednesday, which killed 12 people and injured several.

There is no data about any injured Bulgarian citizens in the attacks on Iran's parliament and Ayatollah Khomeini's shrine in Tehran this morning, Bulgaria's Foreign Affairs Ministry said.

There is no immediate threat to the Bulgarian embassy and its personnel, all necessary measures have been taken to ensure the safety of the staff.
