Israel Pulled Negotiators Out of Qatar and Struck Gaza

Israel withdrew its negotiating team from Qatar and launched airstrikes in the Gaza Strip in the new phase of its offensive against Hamas after a week-long truce. The Islamist group said it would continue negotiations for the release of more hostages only after the end of the war in Gaza. According to Hamas, the new Israeli attacks have claimed more than 190 victims.

Israeli strikes rock Gaza for second day after truce collapse

Israel carried out deadly bombardments in Gaza for a second day on Saturday after a week-long truce with Hamas collapsed despite international calls for an extension.

A temporary cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war has been extended another day, according to mediator Qatar and the announcement Thursday came minutes before the cease-fire was set to expire.

Negotiations on extending it came down to the wire, with last-minute disagreements over the hostages to be freed by Hamas in exchange for another day of a halt in fighting.

The Israeli army stormed the West Bank city of Jenin.

Five Palestinians were injured, Al Jazeera TV reported.

According to the media, the Israeli military launched a large-scale operation in the area with more than 50 units of combat equipment.

Israeli forces have surrounded local hospitals and are searching residential areas, the TV station said.
