Israeli involvement in the Syrian Civil War

Iran launched a significant attack on Israel, firing numerous drones and missiles, which both Tel Aviv and Tehran confirmed. The attack was purportedly in retaliation for Israel's assault on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, resulting in casualties.

Israeli warplanes struck a Syrian military position overnight in response to rocket fire on the Israeli-annexed Golan Heights, the military said on Tuesday.

The cross-border fire came days after an air strike blamed on Israel destroyed the Iranian consulate in Damascus, killing senior military commanders and raising regional tensions.

Syrian state television, as quoted by the Associated Press, reported that two individuals were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Damascus, with additional material damage reported.

Apart from them, around 20 members were wounded in the attack carried out by the "Islamic Resistance" after midnight on Sunday to Monday, where the base was targeted by a drone, as part of the "Revenge for Gaza" campaign, and the number is likely to increase.

An Israeli strike on the Syrian capital on Saturday destroyed a building used by the Iranian paramilitary Revolutionary Guard, killing at least five Iranians, Syrian and Iranian state media reported.

The Israeli army said early Saturday that it was carrying out strikes in Syria after two rockets fired from the country fell into territory under its control.

"Following the report regarding sirens sounding in northern Israel, a short while ago two launches that were identified crossing from Syria fell in an open area," the army said.

Israeli air strikes hit southern Syria, the Syrian defence ministry said, with state media reporting attacks near the capital Damascus.

"At approximately 23:05 (20:05 GMT) today, the Israeli enemy carried out air strikes from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting some points in the southern region," the defence ministry said in a statement, reporting no casualties.

The United States carried out strikes against two Iran-linked sites in Syria on Sunday in response to attacks on American forces, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said.

Israel's military has retaliated against a drone attack originating from Syria that struck a school in the southern city of Eilat. According to reports, the Israeli army responded promptly, targeting the group responsible for the drone launch.

In a high-stakes move, the United States conducted a strike on pro-Iranian targets in Syria, resulting in the reported death of nine individuals associated with Iran-backed groups in the eastern city of Deir ez-Zor. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a non-governmental organization, confirmed the casualties, emphasizing that the strike targeted sites utilized by pro-Iranian factions.
