Bulgarian Minister Discusses Judicial Reform with Senior Officials of CoE, ECHR

Bulgaria's Justice Minister Hristo Ivanov and Thorbjørn Jagland, Secretary General of the Council of Europe (CoE), have discussed Bulgaria's judicial reform strategy and the independence of the judiciary in the country.

Ivanov is on a two-day working visit to Strasbourg on March 16-17.

Bulgarian Justice Minister Hristo Ivanov has underscored that the judicial reform strategy had been backed by almost ¾ of MPs.

In a Thursday interview for the Bulgarian National Radio, Ivanov commented on the approval of the updated judicial reform strategy by Parliament on Wednesday.

Bulgaria's Justice Minister Hristo Ivanov became father of a boy on Saturday.

The news first appeared on PM Boyko Borisov's official Facebook page.

"We have the first baby in the government," Borisov wrote. "The Justice Minister Hristo Ivanov today became father of a boy and treated us on the happy occasion. May the entire family be healthy!"

Bulgaria's Justice Minister Hristo Ivanov Pays Working Visit to Brussels

Bulgaria's caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Hristo Ivanov will present in Brussels the updated judicial reform strategy, Tuesday, announced by the Ministry's press office.

During the working visit, Ivanov will meet with Catherine Day, Secretary General of the European Commission, and Paraskevi Michou, Director General of the Directorate-General Justice.

Seaside Property Sales to Russians Drop By 30%

The sales of Bulgarian seaside real estate to Russian citizens has dropped by 30% since end of July, reports the Nova TV national channel. 

According to real estate brokers, the story with the British buyers repeats – suddenly the interest of Russian buyers dissipated and some of the owners are already trying to sell.
