Seafront houses in İzmir rented for Tarkan concert
A frenzy has sparked following the announcement that Turkish pop icon Tarkan is coming for a concert in the western province of İzmir's Kordon, an iconic seafront promenade, as part of the 100th anniversary of the Liberation of İzmir on Sept. 9, with houses that have balconies being rented for up to $500 a night.

Turkish President Erdogan has again Threatened Greece
Turkish President Recep Erdogan made a speech full of threats to Greece. He called on Athens to learn from history and not forget the defeat in the Greco-Turkish war in 1922, Anadolu Agency reported.
Erdogan made the speech at Turkey's largest technology festival, Teknofest, which is held on the Black Sea coast in Samsun province.
President Erdoğan warns Greece over Aegean airspace violations
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Sept. 3 warned Greece it would pay a "heavy price" if it continued to "harass" Turkish planes over the Aegean.
"Hey Greece, take a look at history. If you go further, you will pay a heavy price," Erdoğan told a rally in the Black Sea region.
Ferry services between İzmir, Thessaloniki to start in September
Ferry services between Türkiye's Aegean province of İzmir and the northern Greek city of Thessaloniki, a project on the table since 2011, will begin in September, a Greece-based ferry company has announced.
Athens-based company Levanta Ferries declared that a ferry named "Smyrna di Levante" would hold service once a week between the two sides of the Aegean.
160 migrants pushed back by Greece saved on Aegean
Turkish Coast Guard teams have saved a total of 160 migrants pushed back by Greek forces on the Aegean Sea in two different locations.
The first incident happened off the southwestern province of Muğla's Bodrum district early Aug. 28 when Coast Guard officers saved some 64 migrants pushed back by Greece.

Over 440 migrants caught in İzmir in one week
The gendarmerie units in the western province of İzmir have caught 446 irregular migrants between Aug. 15 and 24, İhlas News Agency has reported.
"Some three suspects involved in human smuggling have also been detained," the agency said.
