Over 100 migrants pushed back by Greece rescued
The Turkish Coast Guard has saved more than 100 irregular migrants pushed back by Greek authorities off the Çeşme, Menderes and Foça districts in the Aegean province of İzmir.
According to a statement from the Coast Guard, the first group, consisting of some 76 people, was saved on April 22. Another group of 32 people was rescued the day after.

Gediz Delta added to ‘Birding Places’ list
The Gediz Delta, located in the western province of İzmir's Çiğli district, has been added to the "Birding Places" list, an EU platform displaying all the bird watching regions across the world.
"With this platform, millions will be aware of Gediz Delta and Çiğli," Utku Gümrükçü, the mayor of the district, told Demirören News Agency.

Over 50 migrants pushed back in Aegean rescued
Turkish Coast Guard units rescued 52 migrants off the coast of İzmir province after they were pushed back by Greek authorities.
The Coast Guard Command said on Feb. 15 in a statement they learned that there was a group of migrants in life rafts off Dikili, Seferihisar, Foça and Çeşme districts and dispatched units to the areas.

Turkey hands over homes, shops to İzmir quake victims
Turkey delivers the first phase residences and shops to the earthquake victims in the western province of İzmir, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on Nov. 26.
"After the İzmir earthquake, we decided to build a total of 5,074 residences and 353 shops. We promised to start delivering them within a year," Erdoğan said, attending the earthquake housing delivery ceremony in İzmir.
