The euro strengthened for a fourth day against the dollar after Greece pledged to make a payment to the International Monetary Fund on time this week.

Euro hit by concerns over Greece
The euro slipped on Monday ahead of more talks aimed at solving Greece?s debt crisis, while investors also eye a slate of speeches by Federal Reserve officials for further clues about the timing of an interest rate hike.
The single currency eased to $1.0787 and 129.55 yen on Monday from $1.0821 and 129.98 yen in New York on Friday.

Euro down on Greece fears, equities mixed ahead of break
The euro weakened Tuesday after the showdown debt talks between Greece and its creditors collapsed, raising the prospect the country will be dumped out of the eurozone.
However, many equity markets were unfazed by the trouble in Europe as trade begins to wind down in several Asian bourses before the Lunar New Year holiday at the end of the week.

The euro declined against the dollar, approaching a nine-year low, on speculation reports this week will strengthen the argument for sovereign-bond purchases from the European Central Bank.
The dollar will again shake the world in 2015
The U.S. dollar, which rapidly strengthened in 2014, shook the world's several local currencies, strong or weak, last year. Many local currencies lost value against the dollar. The euro, especially in the second half of 2014, was seriously shaken, but nevertheless, its annual average value in 2014 was the same as its average annual value in 2013.

Euro near eight-month low as short bets surge to most since 2012

The euro was 0.4 percent from its lowest level versus the dollar since November as investors held the largest position in two years betting on a drop in the currency before the regions central bank meets this week.
