Croatian Ministry Recommends School Trips to WWII Jasenovac Camp

The Science and Education Ministry told BIRN on Wednesday that it will recommend that Croatian schools organise visits to the Jasenovac Memorial Site as part of pupils' civic education studies from the start of the next school year.

"Therefore schools, if they decide [to do] that activity, can put [it] in their school curriculum," the ministry said.

Book Event Questioning WWII Crimes Planned for Zagreb Church

The Society for Research of the Threefold Jasenovac Camp, which questions whether the fascist Ustasa-run Jasenovac detention site was really a concentration camp during World War II, is to hold a promotional event for a book entitled 'The Jasenovac Lie Revealed' at a Zagreb church on January 16.

He said that in 20 days he would present all granted requests and everything that was done so that "Croatians in Serbia feel good and respect this country".
