Turkey expresses concern over Jordan's arrests of ex-officials

Turkey on April 4 expressed concern over April 3's arrests of the former head of the Jordanian Royal Court as well as other former officials for "security reasons."

"We do not see the stability and calm of Jordan, a country that is key to peace in the Middle East, as separate from Turkey's stability and calm," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Greece signs military cooperation agreement with Jordan

Greece and Jordan signed a military cooperation pact on Monday.

The agreement, which stipulates the exchange of information and joint military training, was signed by Commodore Michalis Naoum of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff (GEETHA) and Brigadier General Amjad B. Al Rudaini, chief of planning and defense requirements for the Jordanian Armed Forces.

Jordan has deployed tens of fighter jets to bomb targets of the Islamic State (IS) group in Iraq, officials say.

The military has vowed to continue with the attacks to bring IS to its defeat after the death of Moaz al-Kassabeh, a captured Jordanian military pilot who was burned alive, with IS members taking footage of their actions.
