Tabakovic: Prices to remain stable in 2017

BELGRADE - Serbia will see low inflation, a stable foreign exchange rate and a good inflow of foreign direct investment in 2017, says National Bank of Serbia (NBS) Governor Jorgovanka Tabakovic.

Such expectations are not only based on macroeconomic projections, but also on last year's achievements, she told Vecernje novosti in an interview.

NBS, IMF: Programme continuing successfully, trends positive

Vucic's SNS party elects new vice-presidents

The electoral assembly of the Serb Progressive Party (SNS) met during the weekend in Belgrade and elected new vice-presidents to leader Aleksadar Vucic.

Vucic himself was again unanimously elected as the SNS president. Jorgovanka Tabakovic is a new vice president - "but her post will remain frozen as long as she is at the helm of the Serbian central bank (NBS)," Tanjug reported.

Serbian currency lost 0.7 pct against euro in December

The Serbian dinar (RSD) dropped by 0.7 percent against the euro (EUR) in December, and by 0.9 percent since the beginning of the year.

The National Bank of Serbia (NBS) sold EUR 440 million on the interbank foreign exchange market to defend the national currency, NBS Governor Jorgovanka Tabakovic has told state broadcaster RTS.
