The guerrilla organization Group of Popular Fighters has claimed responsibility for a shooting attack on the Israeli Embassy in Athens in December, the police said on Wednesday after collecting a memory stick with the group?s proclamation from a trash bin in Nea Smyrni.
Al-Jazeera journalist Greste says to fly home shortly
Al-Jazeera journalist Peter Greste said Feb. 3 he was due to leave Greek Cyprus shortly and fly home to Australia following his release from an Egyptian jail.
In his first posts on his official Twitter account after more than 400 days in jail, Greste thanked his supporters and said he would soon be heading to see his family in his native Australia.

The European Parliament approved a resolution on freedom of expression in Turkey on Jan. 15, with most of the 593 members of the parliament voting for the measure's adoption.

Serbia ranks 54th in "press freedom" survey
Serbia ranks 54th in "press freedom" survey
LONDON -- Serbia is ranked 54th out of 180 countries in terms of press freedom in 2014, according to a Reporters without Borders survey.
Last year, the country was ranked 63rd.
Reporters without Borders said that Finland took the first place for the fourth year in a row, followed by the Netherlands and Norway.
