U.S. authorities will adopt new sanctions against Russia tomorrow, aimed at banning investments in that country, sources close to the issue said. These sanctions will be adopted in coordination with the European Union and the Group of Seven most industrialized countries in the world, which consists of the United States, Canada, Japan, Germany, Great Britain, France and Italy.

If media outlets of Voice of America, VOA, Euronews and Deutsche Welle, DW, do not apply for a national licence, their websites will be blocked in Turkey, Ilhan Tasci, a board member at RTUK from the main opposition Republican People's Party, warned on Wednesday.

As it was announced, the C-17 "Globemaster" planes with about 2.000 American soldiers took off from the Fort Bragg military base (North Carolina).
Most of the troops will be based in Poland, and the rest will be temporarily deployed in Germany.

New Record for the Number of Journalists Worldwide that are Behind Bars
The number of journalists around the world behind bars has reached its highest level in 2021, according to a new study by the non-profit organization Committee for the Protection of Journalists (CPJ), Reuters reported. The report states that as of December 1 this year, 293 reporters are in prison.

STA among recipients of Watchdog Awards for journalism
Ljubljana – The Slovenian Journalists’ Association has announced this year’s recipients of the Watchdog Awards, with the most prestigious ones awarded to Večer journalist Glorija Lorenci and the Slovenian Press Agency. The jury noted that Slovenian journalism had remained responsible, professional and ethical despite a challenging year.
