First train crash inquiry meeting marred by acrimony

The first meeting of the parliamentary committee of inquiry on the fatal railway collision in Tempe, central Greece in February was marked by acrimony on Tuesday after New Democracy MP Thanos Plevris requested the opinion of the Scientific Service of the House on the legality of Course of Freedom leader Zoi Konstantopoulou's participation, as she is a lawyer for the families of the victims. 

ECHR admits application against Slovenia over judicial recusal

Ljubljana – The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has admitted an application against Slovenia over an alleged violation of the right to a fair hearing. The case concerns Constitutional Court judge Rok Čeferin’s failure to exclude himself from a case, the STA has learnt from the State Attorney’s Office.

Former chief corruption prosecutor demands two prosecutors investigating her be recused

Former head of the National Anti-Corruption Directorate (DNA) Laura Codruta Kovesi said Friday that she filed two appeals with the Attorney General's Office for the recusal of prosecutor Adina Florea and of the head of the Magistrates' Investigation Section.
