Electronic Bracelets for Monitoring Criminals will Finally be Introduced from October
In October, the Justice Ministry will finally have electronic bracelets for monitoring, Mediapool reports.
A total of 200 bracelets with GPS surveillance with a precision of 2.5 m, and the remaining 50 aim to control inmates in open spaces.

Athens police catch one of three escaped detainees
Police on Thursday afternoon caught one of three detainees who escaped from pre-trial custody in the early hours of the morning.
The 35-year-old Albanian national was found in Menidi, northern Athens.
The suspect, and another two Albanian men, escaped from a detention unit on Petrou Ralli Street shortly after midnight on Wednesday.

Police in Athens seek three detainees who cut through cell bars
Police on Thursday were seeking three Albanian men who escaped from a detention unit on Petrou Ralli Street shortly after midnight on Wednesday.
Two of the detainees were being held pending trial on drugs charges, the third for manslaughter.
A Georgian national also tried to escape with the three men but was caught.
Illegal Cigarette Factory with Workers from Bulgaria and Ukraine was Discovered in Spain
In a joint operation of the Spanish Civil Guard and Europol, 18 people were arrested by a criminal group operating an illegal cigarette factory in the Spanish city of Granada, TASS reported.
The authorities of Bulgaria, Greece, Moldova, Romania and Ukraine have been cooperating to carry out the operation, according to a release from Wednesday by the European Police Service.

The countries that abolished the death penalty have reached 170. 87% of the death sentences are carried out in four countries. They are Iraq, Iran, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. These figures were released on Tuesday by the United Nations on the World Day against the Death Penalty - Oct. 10.

Inmates to get bracelet option
The Justice Ministry submitted an amendment to Parliament Tuesday that will allow prisoners convicted of a range of offenses to be granted conditional release from jail as long as they wear an electronic monitoring bracelet.

Over 350,000 on probation in Turkey, Justice Ministry says
The number of convicts on probation reached 353,749 as of July 31, as the authorities try to open up space in prisons for the rising number of jailed Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) suspects, according to figures released by the Justice Ministry.
