There is no pollution in the Bulgarian part of the Black Sea as a result of Russia's destruction of the wall of the Nova Kakhovka dam in Ukraine. This was announced by the Ministry of Environment and Water at a press conference in Varna. The conclusion is based on research by the Institute of Oceanology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.

The cargo ship, searched in the Black Sea by the Russian Navy after a warning shot, is off the coast of Bulgaria, according to data from several specialized maritime traffic monitoring sites.

It is currently not far from Cape Kaliakra.

Тhe amount of plastic waste in the Black Sea is increasing. These are the observations of scientists at the Institute of Oceanology in Varna. They returned from another expedition, on which they examined the quality of the water.

The excavations are conducted under the scientific guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Boni Petrunova, Director of the National Museum of History. She has been exploring the medieval maritime capital of Bulgaria since 2004. The financing of the excavations in 2019 is from the Ministry of Culture and from the Kavarna Municipality.

It will be mostly sunny today, with some increase in clouds from west to east, Krasimir Stoev of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology told Focus News Agency. Isolated showers in the western part of the country only.

The wind will be moderate from the northwest, in eastern Bulgaria - from the southeast.

The Regional Prosecutor's Office in Dobrich is overseeing pre-trial proceedings launched after on 16 April 2019 about 05:00 pm at the Bolata beach in Kaliakra, a packet of narcotics attached to a life jacket washed ashore, said the Appellate Prosecutor's Office - Varna.

A real treasure was discovered in the Kaliakra fortress - in a little clay pot, hidden under the floor of a room burned at the end of the 14th century, the National Museum of History (NMH) reports.

Five children were injured yesterday after an explosion in front of a residential block of the former student hostels in Dobrich. The incident took place at 17.00 on Kaliakra Str. Three of the injured children were placed in a hospital in Dobrich without danger to their life; a fourth child was transported to the specialized eye clinic in Varna.
 

A unique white jade amulet, probably made in China during the Yuan Dynasty, was discovered during excavations on Cape Kaliakra. This was announced by the head of the archeological team, Associate Professor Dr Bonie Petrunova, at a press conference.
