Three illegal migrants were detained yesterday as border police officers inspected a truck on the Kapitan Petko Voyvoda checkpoint, the Ministry of Interior said. The truck, Polish registration, arrived on the checkpoint in the direction of Bulgaria, driven by a 38-year-old Polish.

23 illegal migrants were captured on Saturday at Kapitan Petko Voyvoda, on the border with Greece. They were found in a truck literally crammed into a secret compartment in the cargo space.

Investigative actions are taken, the identity of detainees is clarified.

Over 280 British soldiers with nearly 170 military and auxiliary vehicles entered Bulgaria on Wednesday  via Kapitan Petko Voyvoda checkpoint at the country's southeastern border with Greece while en route to Romania, officials said, Xinhua agency reported.

Bulgaria will file claims before the European Union for losses arising from the continuing blockades staged by Greek farmers at checkpoints along the Bulgarian-Greek border.

After protesting Greek farmers have staged blockades at checkpoints along the Bulgarian-Greek border in the past weeks, Bulgarian truck drivers are threatening to close the border with Turkey.

Truck traffic at Kulata border checkpoint on Bulgaria's border with Greece has been blocked again at 5 p.m. on Friday by Greek farmers protesting on their side of the border against planned p?nsion cuts.

The blockade for trucks was lifted for about six hours on Friday as agreed by Bulgarian and Greek authorities earlier this week.

Bulgarian companies exporting timber staged partial blockade of the country's borders and roads on Tuesday.

The protests come as response to the three-month moratorium on the export of timber, private bTV station reports.

A disciplinary action has been taken against border policemen at the Kapitan Petko Voyvoda border checkpoint, who are suspected of human trafficking.

The investigation is conducted against 15 out of all 17officers who are working at the checkpoint, the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) reports.
