Events were held in many places across the country marking the 184th birth anniversary of Bulgarian revolutionary and national hero Vassil Levski. Dubbed the Apostle of Freedom, Levski organized and led a revolutionary movement to liberate Bulgaria from the Ottoman rule.
Bulgarian Military Contingent to Take Part in Resolute Support NATO Mission in Afghanistan
Chief of Defense Admiral Emil Eftimov will participate in the solemn ceremony dedicated to sending off the 42nd Bulgarian military contingent designated to participate in train, advise and assist Resolute Support NATO mission in Afghanistan. The ceremony will take place in Vasil Levski Square in Karlovo starting at 3:30 p.m.

Although today Bulgaria marks 148 years since the day he was hung, in the minds of Bulgarian people he remains as immortal.
Rose-Picking Ritual Took Place near Karlovo, Bulgaria
The "Rose-picking" ritual - an integral part of the traditional celebration of the oil-bearing flower in Karlovo, was held on May 30 in the village of Kliment.
The mayor of the municipality Dr. Emil Kabaivanov and Queen of the Rose 2019 - Yana Tsvetkova, welcomed the hard-working farmers who grew roses and thanked them for preserving the livelihood of their region.

Flu Epidemic throughout Bulgaria
Flu epidemic was declared the northwestern city of Montana on January 22. A ban on visitors to hospitals is in place. Planned surgical operations, scheduled and non-urgent medical consultations for children and women have been suspended.

BDZ Stops 14 Passenger Trains Until October 20
From tomorrow to October 20, BDZ stops 14 passenger trains to use the locomotives for other routes.
The movement of part of the trains running on the routes is canceled: Karlovo - Zimnitsa; Dupnitsa - Petrich; Varna - Shumen; Zimnica - Sliven; Stara Zagora - Karlovo and Karlovo-Tulovo, as well as Sliven - Karlovo and Shumen - Kaspichan.

Cosmetics Maker Bulgarian Rose Beats July Sales Forecast
Cosmetics producer Bulgarian Rose [BUL:4BH] said on Thursday that it pocketed sales revenue of 697,000 levs ($396,000/356,000 euro) in July, exceeding its forecast for 638,000 levs in monthly revenue, reports SeeNews.
The company's accumulated sales in the first seven months of the year amounted to 2.83 million levs, Bulgarian Rose said in a bourse filing.
