A new command post with 22 rocket launch sites will protect about 110,000 ha of arable land in the regions of Stara Zagora and Plovdiv as of today, said the press office of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry.

Plovdiv Municipalities Will Receive Over BGN 2 million to Deal with the Consequences of Disasters

The government has allocated over BGN 33 million  to municipalities to deal with the consequences of disasters.

Over BGN 2 million are intended for several municipalities in the Plovdiv region, including Karlovo and Perushtitsa.

The Kuklen Municipality will have approximately BGN 386,000 for emergency landscaping on the Yavrovo-Dobralak municipal road.

Today we Mark 146th Anniversary of the Death of Bulgarian National Hero Levski

Memorial commemorations began on the occasion of the 146th anniversary of the death of Vasil Levski. In the temple "Uspenie Bogorodichno" in Lovech will be served a sanctuary, followed by worship with a military ritual in front of the monument of Vasil Levski.

Enormous Fire near Plovdiv is Under Conrol, Firefighters Worked all Night

Big fire that broke out in a meat mill in a factory in the village of Voyvodinovo in Plovdiv was localized. Early in the morning firefighters continued to extinguish a few remaining small areas from the fire. Today, authorities wll start looking at the causes of the incident.

Five Dams in Plovdiv Area Need Urgent Repair

Five dams in the region need urgent repair, a senior expert at the regional administration in Plovdiv told Focus Radio. Two of them, Zlatovrah and Gorni Domlyan, both owned by Napoitelni Sistemi (Irrigating Systems), are now completely empty and able to receive water, whatever the volumes, chief security expert Valeri Baranov explained.

Hurricane Wind Damages Buildings and Cut off Power Lines in Sopot

Hurricane wind damaged buildings and cut off power lines in Sopot, Karlovo and the nearby settlements in Central Bulgaria on 15th of January. Students were evacuated from a school in Sopot because of broken windows. Currently, there are no reports about injured people, reports BNT. 

The hurricane wind started during the night.

Experienced Mountaineer Died on his Way to Mount Botev

A middle-aged man from Karlovo died today on the way to Botev peak, Mayor of Kalofer Rumen Stoyanov announced. He was an experienced mountaineer, but slipped and fell into a abyss.

The incident happened 40 minutes from the hut "Paradise", at the beginning of the Tarzanova path. Stoyanov recalled that this is a summer trail and in winter it is risky.
