The Bulgarian proposal for the Oscars is Stefan Komandarev's film "Blaga's Lessons".

The decision of the selection committee was made unanimously, reports the National Film Center.

The film recently received the big "Crystal Globe" award for the best film at the Karlovy Vary festival, as well as a statuette for the best female role of Eli Skorcheva.

Serbian film wins top prize at Czech festival

"As Far As I Can Walk," a film by Serbian director Stefan Arsenjevic, won the Crystal Globe award at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival in the Czech Republic ending late on Aug. 28, organizers said.

The film co-produced by Serbia, France, Luxembourg, Bulgaria and Lithuania tells the story of two African migrants in Serbia.

Two Serbian films to premiere at Karlovy Vary festival

BELGRADE - Two Serbian films will have their world premieres in the East of the West competitive section of the Karlovy Vary international film festival.

The films are Monument to Michael Jackson, with screenplay and direction by Darko Lungulov, and Barbarians by Ivan Lalic, who will be making his debut as a screenplay writer and director.
