Anti-fascist rally planned in memory of slain rapper
Thousands of anti-fascist demonstrators were on Wednesday expected to gather in the Piraeus suburb of Keratsini to march on the offices of Golden Dawn party to commemorate the death of rapper Pavlos Fyssas, who was murdered by self-professed GD member Giorgos Roupakias six years ago.
Similar rallies were planned in Thessaloniki, Volos, Patra, Trikala and Kalamatas.
Defendant collapses in Golden Dawn trial
The ongoing trial of neo-Nazi Golden Dawn party was interrupted on Thursday morning after a defendant collapsed in the court room and was taken to hospital.
Giorgos Patelis was in the stand when he fainted. Court officers called an ambulance while he was offered first aid.

One of the key witnesses in the ongoing trial against the neo-Nazi party Golden Dawn on Thursday testified to making the call that set off a chain of events culminating in the murder of rapper Pavlos Fyssas in the Piraeus suburb of Keratsini in the early hours of September 18, 2013.

Mitsotakis meets with SYRIZA-backed mayor-elect in Keratsini
Conservative opposition leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Tuesday met with SYRIZA-backed mayor-elect Christos Vrettakos in the Keratsini district of Piraeus.
The meeting was largely seen as a symbolic gesture of Mitsotakis' intention to work with all mayors and regional governors, regardless of party affiliation, if elected prime minister in national elections next month.
Ancient trireme open to public
The Olympias, a reconstruction of a 5th century BC Athenian trireme, anchored at the Zea Marina in Piraeus port Thursday for the fifth straight year as part of the Sea Days 2019 initiative to raise public awareness on the marine environment.
The ship, belonging to the Hellenic Navy, was welcomed Thursday by Piraeus Mayor Yiannis Moralis.

Fraudsters nabbed in Thessaloniki
Greek police on Wednesday nabbed two fraudsters - a 37-year-old man in Keratsini, near Piraeus, and a 47-year-old woman in Thessaloniki.
The man faced a prosecutor on eight counts of fraud after allegedly stealing the key to an apartment during a viewing while posing as a potential tenant.

Police seeking Keratsini supermarket robbers
Police are seeking the perpetrators of an armed robbery on a supermarket in Keratsini, a suburb of Piraeus, on Friday night.
The raid was carried out by two masked men, one of whom threatened cashiers at gunpoint.
The assailants fled with an undetermined sum without causing any injuries.

Rally in memory of slain rapper under way in Keratsini
A rally commemorating Pavlos Fyssas, the 34-year-old rapper killed by a self-professed member of Golden Dawn five years ago, got under way in Keratsini, near Piraeus, on Tuesday evening.
Several people left flowers at his monument with protesters asking for the ongoing trial on his death to be completed with the conviction of Giorgos Roupakias, the man who stabbed him.
