It's up to Washington to alter its approach if it wants more talks with North Korea, Pyongyang's chief nuclear negotiator said on Oct. 7, after weekend discussions between the sides broke down amid acrimony.

North Korea says negotiations with the US in Stockholm have failed. According to the country's chief negotiator, Washington has presented "nothing to the negotiating table," AFP reports.

A Korean company has declared a willingness to participate in the construction of Belene Nuclear Power Plant (NPP). The United States is ready to resume direct business discussions with North Korea over its nuclear program, said North Korea's special envoy for the DPRK, Stephen Biegun, in Seoul, reported BTA. 
Bilateral talks have stalled since the failure of the second Hanoi summit in February between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

North Korea said on Aug. 3 its leader Kim Jong Un supervised another test-firing of a new multiple rocket launcher system that could potentially enhance the country's ability to strike targets in South Korea and U.S. military bases there.

The U.S. wants Turkey not to make "operational" the Russian S-400 missile system it purchased from Moscow, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on July 25.
