Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca on Sunday said the number of coronavirus cases in the country had risen to 86,306, which is the highest figures outside Europe and the US.

The 3,977 new registered cases on Sunday also pushed the number of coronavirus cases in Turkey above China's, where the outbreak originated.

Turkey's confirmed cases of the coronavirus increased by 31,896 as the daily patients increase by 6,128 in the past 24 hours, and 196 more people have died, taking the death toll to 14,705, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said on Dec. 5.
