Dr Lamprini Rori, an early career fellow at the British School at Athens and a lecturer in politics at the University of Exeter in the UK, will be speaking on the subject of "Political Violence in Crisis-ridden Greece: Evidence from the Radical Right and the Radical Left" at the BSA on Monday, May 20. The lecture starts at 7 p.m. and admission is free of charge.

In "Is it a Trap," at the Zoumboulakis Gallery, Io Angeli, an artist known for exploring the fluidity of space, presents a new series of paintings that depict "imaginary environments, worlds that are illogical and strange and yet, at the same time, familiar and peaceful, inhabited by a human absence." Comicdom Con | Athens | April 19-21
Greece's biggest event dedicated to comic books is back with a strong lineup of events and special guests, including Spain's Raul Allen and Patricia Martin, the UK's Dan Watters and Italian artist Stefano Zanchi. This year's honored artist is Greece's Tasos Marangos (Tasmar). Events will be taking place at the Hellenic American Union and the French Institute from 11 a.m. to 9.30 p.m.

Smart parking scheme to ease congestion in center
A new electronic system designed to facilitate parking in central Athens and heralded on Tuesday by Mayor Giorgos Kaminis is to start operating in the next few months.
Kaminis described the scheme as a "useful tool which among other things will ease traffic congestion on streets and reduce air pollution."
