As a result of guards going on strike, prison visits will not take place on that day.

Golden Dawn spokesman Ilias Kasidiaris is expected to appear before magistrates probing the neofascist party's alleged criminal activities on Thursday to respond to charges of illegal weapons possession.

Another far-right MP, Nikos Michos, will face charges of drug possession.

A decision on the request for conditional imprisonment by convicted November 17 terrorist Savvas Xeros, serving five consecutive life sentences plus an additional 25 years for participating in five assassinations and robberies, among other crimes, was postponed on Thursday until October 14.

Businessman Lavrentis Lavrentiadis, who has been in Korydallos Prison for a year-and-a-half pending trial on charges of embezzlement, was granted release on Tuesday on the condition that he post 500,000 euros in bail and report regularly to his local police station.

Convicted November 17 terrorist Savvas Xeros was briefly transferred on Tuesday from the high-security Korydallos Prison, where he is serving five life sentences, to a Piraeus court, where he lodged an appeal to continue his punishment under house arrest due to worsening health problems. The court is to issue its decision on June 26.

Tuesday's deposition of Golden Dawn MP Eleni Zaroulia in connection with the ongoing investigation into whether the ultranationalist party constitutes a criminal organization was postponed after the party leader and her husband, Nikos Michaloliakos, filed a request for the dismissal of the two magistrates leading the probe.

Authorities say they have evidence suggesting that convicted criminal Panayiotis Vlastos is behind two bomb attacks on targets related to Yiannis Sbokos, a former Defense Ministry general secretary and a close aide of ex-minister Akis Tsochatzopoulos, jailed for money laundering in October. All three men are currently in Korydallos Prison.
