Court to mull appeal by convicted anarchist
A Supreme Court prosecutor on Tuesday proposed that an appeal by jailed Greek anarchist and robber Nikos Romanos for leniency due to good behavior be granted while rejecting another for him to be cleared of a terrorism conviction.

New case file against former defense minister reaches Parliament
A new case file investigating charges against former Socialist defense minister Yiannos Papantoniou of repeated passive bribery was sent to Parliament on Monday afternoon, as part of the probe into alleged kickbacks related to the C4I security system Greece acquired for the Athens 2004 Olympic Games.

Corruption prosecutors investigating files of convicts who secured an early release using medical certificates have uncovered a criminal racket operating inside prisons which provided forged health documents.

Nikos Paleocostas, a convicted serial robber and brother of the fugitive Vassilis Paleocostas (known for making two dramatic helicopter escapes from Attica's high-security Korydallos Prison), has made 12 appeals for furlough, it emerged on Friday.
The inmate, who is in prison in Patra, has the right to apply for furlough but all his applications have been rejected.
Another November 17 convict transferred from Korydallos
A convicted November 17 killer has been transferred from the high-security Korydallos Prison in Athens, a week after a fellow member of the group was moved to an agricultural prison.
On Monday, Christodoulos Xiros was transferred to a Halkida prison on the island of Evia.
