Bulgarian Army Helicopter Crashes, Killing Two Pilots

A Mi-17 military transportation helicopter crashed on Monday evening near Krumovo air force base close to Plovdiv in central Bulgaria, killing both pilots, Captain Plamen Panteleev, 48, and Captain Stoyan Nedelchev, 45.

A third person on board, engineering officer Alexei Kamenov, survived the crash and was severely injured, but managed to crawl out of the wreck.

Deputy PM: The Resignation of Energy Minister Will Not Be Accepted

The resignation of Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova will not be accepted, Bulgaria's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Krasimir Karakachanov said on 6th of March. Bulgaria to Initiate Fighter Jet, Armored Vehicle Procurements this March

Bulgaria's Ministry of Defence will submit its proposals to procure new fighter jets and armored vehicles to the Council of Ministers this March, according to Defence Minister Krasimir Karakachanov.

The minister told public broadcaster BNT that Bulgaria will seek offers "for new and secondhand aircraft" to "find the best prices and the best options."
