Five PKK terrorists surrender to Turkish security sources

Five more PKK terrorists surrendered in Turkey as result of persuasion efforts by security forces, the Interior Ministry announced on July 17. 

The ministry said the terrorists surrendered after fleeing the terror group thanks to persuasion efforts by police and gendarmerie teams, bringing the number of terrorists who have surrendered through persuasion this year alone to 107.

Turkish jets 'neutralize' 2 PKK terrorists in northern Iraq

At least two PKK terrorists were "neutralized" in northern Iraq, the Turkish National Defense Ministry said on July 11. 

The terrorists were "neutralized" in an operation by the Turkish Armed Forces in the Gara region, the ministry said on Twitter.

Turkish authorities use the word "neutralize" to imply the terrorists in question surrendered or were killed or captured.

2 PKK terrorists 'neutralized' in southeastern Turkey

Turkish security forces "neutralized" at least two PKK terrorists in the country's southeast, the Interior Ministry said on July 4.

The terrorists were "neutralized" in an operation supported by unmanned aerial vehicles in the Yüksekova district of Hakkari province as part of Operation Eren-14, said the ministry.

6 PKK terror suspects held in Turkey

Turkish security forces on May 23 arrested six PKK terror suspects in the capital Ankara and northwestern Istanbul province.

Turkish police carried out simultaneous operations at 14 places in Ankara and Istanbul on May 21 to arrest terror suspects. A former official of the People's Democratic Party (HDP) was among the suspects.

Iraq's Foreign Ministry summons Turkish envoy

Iraq on May 3 summoned the top Turkish diplomat in Baghdad to protest the Turkish defense minister's weekend visit to a military base in northern Iraq.

The Iraqi Foreign Ministry said in a statement that it handed the Turkish charge d'affaires a protest note over Hulusi Akar's visit to a Turkish base in northern Iraq.
