Turkish security forces have carried out an airstrike in northern Iraq, "neutralizing" 12 members of the PKK terrorist organization, the Defense Ministry has announced.

The airstrike took place in the Hakurk region of northern Iraq, targeting terrorists identified as operating on behalf of the PKK in the area, according to a written statement issued on April 15.

Turkish security forces have apprehended a terrorist operating as the leader of the so-called "northern Paris youth branch" of the PKK/KCK terrorist organization, upon his arrival at Istanbul Airport from France.

Defense Minister Yaşar Güler has reiterated that PKK has almost lost its capacity to carry out terror activities inside Türkiye and the ultimate goal of the Turkish army is to zero it.

Turkish security forces have "neutralized" four terrorists conducting operations on behalf of the PKK terror organization in northern Iraq, the Defense Ministry has announced.

According to a statement released by the ministry on April 9, Turkish authorities identified the members of the terror group in the Metina region of northern Iraq.

Türkiye's top security council has lauded recent strategic cooperation efforts with Iraq in combating terrorism, affirming the necessity of continuing joint efforts in various fields for security in the region.

The National Security Council (MGK), chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, issued a six-article declaration following a meeting lasting around 2.5 hours late on April 4.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has reiterated Ankara's expectation of full cooperation in the fight against terrorism from the NATO allies during the alliance's two-day summit in Brussels.

"We have expressed our expectation that all the NATO countries should fully and unconditionally support Türkiye in fighting terrorism," Fidan told reporters late on April 4.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has emphasized the necessity of addressing the terrorism issue beyond political boundaries, asserting that Türkiye's "future has no terrorism."

The Supreme Election Council (YSK) has decided to grant the certificate of the election to the winning candidate from the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) in the eastern province of Van, accepting the appeal by the party against an earlier ruling that overturned the election win.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will highlight NATO's responsibility in jointly fighting terrorism with expectations that the support given to the YPG in northern Syria by some allies should be ended without delay during NATO's foreign ministerial meeting in Brussels on April 3 and 4.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has attributed PKK's recent attacks on Turkish communities in Europe to what he described as Türkiye's efforts to corner the organization.

"At this point, thank God, we do not leave room for terrorist groups, we do not let them breathe, we do not let them open their eyes," Fidan said during a gathering in Istanbul late on March 27.
