Vucic regrets support for Milosevic

BELGRADE - Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said for Italian "Republica" that he regrets the fact that he stood by Slobodan Milosevic in the past, and admitted that he made a plenty of mistakes. Now he wants to turn a new page for the sake of "European Serbia".

"I felt I had to say that I made a mistake. The desire to restart Serbia made me admit my mistakes," said Vucic.

Complaint to be filed against minister over medical records

The medical data of a former director of the tabloid Kurir was issued without authorization, Ombudsman Sasa Jankovic has said.

For this reason, minor charges will be filed against the director of the psychiatric hospital Dr. Laza Lazarevic in Belgrade, and against "a minister," Jankovic announced on Tuesday.

Serbian Minister Denies Breaking Data Protection Law

Serbian Health Minister Zlatibor Loncar on Monday denied accusations by the Serbia's Commissioner for Public Information and several opposition parties that he may have broken the law by revealing on a TV show that Aleksandar Kornic, former director of Kurir newspaper, was treated for mental health problems.

"What is the violation there?" asked Loncar.

Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic was questioned on Sunday at his own request and passed a polygraph test, Nebojsa Stefanovic has announced.

The interior minister also told a news conference in Belgrade that "new proof has emerged that the whole scandal surrounding prime minister was fake and rigged."

Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic took a lie-detector test to prove he is innocent of media blackmail allegations, which his allies claim were invented as part of a plot to overthrow him.

Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said on Sunday that Prime Minister Vucic had taken a police polygraph test which proved that the blackmail claims against the Serbian premier were "false accusations".
