Newly elected New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Monday sent a message of renewal during the hand-over ceremony at the party offices.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis, a former Administrative Reform Minister, on Sunday narrowly won a vote determining the next leader of conservative New Democracy party.

This comes after Samaras stepped down as New Democracy chair on July 05, following a resounding "No" in a referendum called by the government of Alexis Tsipras on new bailout conditions proposed then by international lenders.
