About 150 migrants were rescued from overloaded sailboats provided by smugglers in two separate incidents Wednesday far off a western Greek island and off a Cycladic island near the Greek capital, the coast guard said.

Kythnos finally gets its archaeological museum
After a 30-year wait, the island of Kythnos has inaugurated its archaeological museum. The launch ceremony was attended by Culture Minister Lina Mendoni. Housed in an old municipal building, the museum was created with funding from the National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF) 2014-2021 of the South Aegean Region and a budget of 1.6 million euros.

4.8-magnitude tremor recorded southwest of Kythnos
A strong 4.8 point magnitude earthquake occurred in the island of Kythnos shortly after 6 p.m. on Friday, according to the Geodynamic Institute of the National Observatory of Athens.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located 39 kilometers southwest of Kythnos, with a focal depth of 114.7 kilometers.
