Actors and theatre workers to strike on Feb 1-2
Actors and theatre workers have called a 48-hour strike on Wednesday and Thursday in protest at a draft government bill on pay in the sector.
The Panhellenic Federation of Theatre said that under the proposed law, the "remuneration of artists in the wider public sector and in private entities will not be determined by collective labor agreements but by the respective government."

Statutory minimum wage going up to €878 net
The statutory minimum wage in Slovenia this year has been set at €878 net a month, €100 more than the year before in the most substantial rise in a decade. There are concerns the hike will increase pressure for other wages to be raised as well and thus fuel inflation further.

The Greek Prime Minister, Mr Kyriakos Mitsotakis, is expected to announce new increases in the private sector wages as well as some changes concerning the collective agreements, during this year's Thessaloniki International Fair.

Train drivers at eight British rail companies will go on strike later this month in the second large-scale industrial action set to affect commuters in July.
The Aslef train drivers' union said its members will walk out for 24 hours on July 30 over pay disputes.
Minimum wage increased by 30 percent
The minimum wage in Türkiye has been increased by 30 percent in a midyear adjustment to a net of 5,500 Turkish Liras (around $300), President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced on July 1.
The increase came on top of the 50 percent hike in January, which brought the minimum wage to a net of 4,250 liras.

Higher minimum wage from May 1
As of Sunday, May 1, the minimum wage increased by 7.5 pct, on top of the 2 pct increase introduced in January 2022, rising to 713 euros per month from 663 euros previously. The corresponding minimum daily wage will increase to 31.85 euros from 29.62 euros.

Police union files criminal complaint against interior minister
Ljubljana – One of the two trade unions of Slovenian police officers has filed a criminal complaint against Interior Minister Aleš Hojs and a Robert Kos, the director for organisation and staff at the police, for alleged obstruction of union activity in the force and abuse of office.
