Balloon with Tourists got Stuck in Rocks in the Bulgarian Rhodopes
A group of tourists flying on a balloon got stuck between rocks in the Rhodopes around 20:30 on Thursday, announced the Mountain Rescue Service at the Bulgarian Red Cross.
No one got injured in the incident. Tourists have been rescued by Civil Protection.
The accident occurred in the area of Ustina village, in the area known as the "Tower".
Greek defence ministry οn alert with three lines of defence against Turkey

Fears persist of Crete blackout
Concerns from Crete's Deputy Regional Governor Nikos Kalogeris of blackouts this summer put a damper on Thursday's ceremony by the Independent Power Transmission Operator (ADMIE) and the European Investment Bank at the Energy Ministry for the signing of the so-called "small interconnection" linking Crete with the Peloponnese, which is different to the planned Crete-Attica linkup.

European Council President tells Turkey to back off from Cyprus’ EEZ

European Council President Donald Tusk has said that the EU is in Cyprus' corner as regards Turkey's violation of the Republic of Cyprus' sovereign right to drill in its own EEZ.

European Council President Donald Tusk says the European Union "stands united" behind Cyprus as tensions between the Mediterranean island nation and Turkey escalate over offshore gas drilling.
Speaking Thursday after an informal EU summit in Romania, Tusk said the EU "expects Turkey to respect the sovereign rights" of its member nation and the bloc will closely monitor the situation.

Cyprus' president slammed Turkey Thursday for an "unprecedented escalation of illegal action" in the eastern Mediterranean, equating Ankara's bid to drill for gas in waters where the Mediterranean island nation has exclusive economic rights as being tantamount to a new invasion.

Cyprus raises issue of Turkish violations in Romania summit, EPP meeting
Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades is seeking support from other European Union leaders at an informal summit in Romania against Turkey's bid to drill for hydrocarbons in waters where the Mediterranean island nation has exclusive economic rights.

Developments expected in Cyprus’ energy plans, says foreign minister
Developments are expected in the implementation of Cyprus' energy planning in the next few days, the country's Foreign Minister Nicos Christodoulides said on Thursday, speaking at an event to mark Europe Day in Nicosia.
Christodoulides also said Cypriot authorities will "very soon" issue the first arrest warrants for the crew of Turkey's Fatih drillship off Cyprus.
