Serbia Urged to Correct Schoolbooks Denying Croatian is a Language

Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic told Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic at a meeting on the margins of the EU-Western Balkans summit in Slovenia that he wants a school textbook that describes the Croatian, Bosnian and Montenegrin languages as versions of Serbian to be corrected.

He added that he respects those who have a different opinion.
On Monday, the entire Montenegrin opposition and part of the ruling parties condemned the statement of Stanivukovi, who denied the Montenegrin nation during his stay in Montenegro.
He said at a gathering of like-minded people that he believes that "Montenegrins are a fictional nation".

Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian, Montenegrin as "common language"

Linguist Ranko Bugarski said this on Thursday while promoting his new book, "Do you speak common (language)," published by Biblioteka XX Vek - and added that this language has been separated into four for political reasons.

"From the political and administrative, but by no means from the aspect of linguistics, we have four different languages," Bugarski said.
