Hellenic Train said that damage caused on that stretch of the rail network by a devastating storm in September has been repaired, allowing the connection between Thessaly's regional capital and wine country to go back into operation.

Thirty-five more settlements told to be on alert due to flooding
The residents of 35 villages in central Greece were told to be ready to evacuate on Saturday, as water continued to flood the vast Thessaly Plain where a three-day thunderstorm brought unprecedented amounts of water to the region.
Rail service knocked out after storm Daniel
The damage caused to the railway network from Domokos station to Krannonas, about 10 kilometers outside Larissa, stretches, according to reports, for about 50 km.
Hellenic Railways (OSE) CEO Panagiotis Terzakis said the damage is to the tracks, light signals on power poles, stations and the infrastructure network in general.

Greek rescue teams move into worst-hit flood villages
Rescue teams took people out of floodwaters in inflatable boats and in bulldozers on Saturday as they moved into villages hit hardest by a sweeping rainstorm that killed at least 10 people in central Greece this week.
Larissa on high alert as floodwaters rise
Larissa, the capital and largest city of the Thessaly region, is on high alert as the level of the Pinios River rose 10 meters in places overnight.
Severe flooding has been reported in some of the city's suburbs while the city center remains unaffected.
