Bulgarian Sentenced to 40 Months in Prison in the Czech Republic after Threats to Pakistan About Terrorist Attacks

A 21-year-old Bulgarian was sentenced to 40 months in prison in the Czech Republic because he threatened Pakistan with terrorist attacks if they did not release a Czech girl arrested for possession of drugs, AFP reported. Local agencies are also reported on the case.

Terrorist Threat in the EU Remains High

In 2017, 68 innocent victims lost their lives as a result of terrorist attacks in the European Union (EU) - reason enough for Europol not to reduce its efforts in combatting terrorism in all its forms. Even though the number of casualties decreased last year, the number of attacks on European soil did not. The number of jihadist-inspired attacks more than doubled.

Crowds flock to site in solidarity after Beşiktaş terror attack

Crowds rushed to the site in solidarity after a deadly double bomb attack hit central Istanbul outside Beşiktaş's Vodafone Arena Stadium late on Dec. 10. 

People shouted slogans and placed carnations at the scene, where 38 people, of whom 30 were police officers and seven were civilians, lost their lives. At least 155 people were wounded in the attack.
