The Slovak Parliament Rejected the Istanbul Convention
Slovak MPs rejected Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence. In the 150-seat parliament, 96 of the 113 lawmakers present voted against ratifying the document, known as the Istanbul Convention, the Associated Press reported.
1,302.5 Thousand Bulgarians Made Tourism Trips in Q4 of 2019
In the fourth quarter of 2019, 1,302.5 thousand Bulgarian residents made tourism trips, the National Statistical Institute said in a press release. The majority (81.1%) of them travelled only in the country, 17.1% - only abroad and 1.8% - both in the country and abroad. Compared to the same quarter of 2018, the total number of the travellers aged 15 and over increased by 18.9%

EU Court Rules Against Romania In Cyber Domestic Abuse Case
A judgment issued on Tuesday by the European Court of Human Rights, ECHR, ordered Romania to pay a victim of domestic abuse 10,000 euros for failing to protect her when police refused to investigate her husband for breaching her internet privacy. The court recognised this as one of "the various forms that domestic violence may take".
European Commission slams Turkey as Ankara announces drilling in Greek EEZ
Turkey has announce plans to begin gas and oil exploration in a maritime area reaching from the Greek island of Kastelorizo to Libya, with which Ankara has in November, 2019, signed an accord that delimits their putative Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZs, though they are not contiguous) by expropriating a huge chunk of Greece's EEZ, particularly around Crete.

For the first time since 1996 Bulgaria has dropped out of the top 10 of countries with the most judgements against the country in the European Court of Human Rights, the court's annual report shows, BNR reported.
