Bosnia Rejects Serb Paramilitary’s Crimes Against Humanity Appeal

The Constitutional Court rejected as inadmissible the appeal filed by Gojko Jankovic, the leader of a Serb paramilitary group from the town of Foca, who was sentenced to 34 years in prison for the unlawful detention, murder and torture of Bosniaks and the rape and sexual enslavement of young women and girls, one of whom was just 12.

Suspect detained in rape of British girl on Corfu

A 32-year-old Albanian national is to face a prosecutor on the Ionian island of Corfu on Monday in connection with the alleged rape of a 14-year-old British girl early last Wednesday.
The suspect is accused of sexually molesting and then raping the girl who had been holidaying at a hotel on the island with her family.

Former Bosnian Army Soldiers Jailed for Raping Minor

The Appeals Chamber of the State Court in Bosnia has jailed two former former Bosnian Army members, following a retrial, for six years each, for raping a protected witness who was a minor at the time, in 1993.

It also ordered Samir Kesmer and Mirsad Menzilovic to pay KM 30,000 to Witness A in compensation for non-material damage.

Chios court convicts 70-year-old to 20 years over child rape

A 70-year-old man was sentenced on Thursday to 20 years in prison by a court on the eastern Aegean island of Chios after his conviction for the repeated rape of three children who had stayed at his house.

The man was a sports official on the nearby island of Lesvos and, as he himself claimed, trained "hundreds of children" during his career.

Police detain couple over elderly woman's murder, seek neighbor

Police in Piraeus have detained a 44-year-old man and his 39-year-old partner in connection with the murder of an 80-year-old woman in November of last year.

The elderly woman had been found in her apartment bearing multiple wounds and had been transferred to the hospital but died of her injuries.
