The winning combination of sun and sea makes for a great source of happiness and rejuvenation for all ages; however, for people with mobility problems, while the sea offers an opportunity for a sense of freedom, actually getting into the water is often such a tough feat in itself that many don't bother. 

Water supply to be cut for four days in parts of Lefkada

Authorities on the Ionian holiday island of Lefkada have announced a four-day water supply cut to several villages on the western side of the island.

From Monday and until Thursday, Spanohori, Lazarata, Pinakohori, Kavalos, Asprogerakas, Drymonas, Exanthia, Kalamitsi, Hortata, Komili, Dragano and Athani will be supplied limited quantities of water by municipal authorities.

Greek officials seize half a ton of cannabis

Authorities in northwestern Greece confiscated 442 kilos of cannabis that were smuggled into the country on a speedboat from neighboring Albania early Thursday morning.

According to reports, the bust was made after police in the coastal town of Preveza were tipped off about an imminent arrival of drugs from the Albanian coast via sea.

Man, 17, killed in motorcycle accident on Lefkada island

A 17-year-old man from Albania died on Wednesday on the Ionian island of Lefkada after he lost control of his motorcycle and wound up on the roadway.

A 18-year-old passenger on the motorcycle was hospitalized with serious injuries.

Lefkada police are investigating the causes of the accident.
