German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schauble expressed his satisfaction over Greece’s determination to implement reforms, in an interview to Sunday’s Bild. “The Greek government has understood that the country cannot avoid deep reforms”, he underlined.

The far-right National-Democratic Party of Germany (NPD) has won one MEP seat after Sunday's European elections.

NPD, which has received around 300 000 votes, benefits from an earlier decision by Germany's Constitutional Court to remove the three-percent election threshold for parties as "non-democratic" and "discriminatory".

BERLIN - Gregor Gysi, leader of the socialist left-wing political party The Left, said in the Bundestag on Thursday that NATO and the EU are partially responsible for the current situation in Ukraine because of the policy they pursued in previous years.
