Germany embarks on a groundbreaking shift in drug policy as it implements new legislation aimed at partially liberalizing the cannabis market. With the enforcement of this law, individuals will now have regulated access to marijuana, albeit under stringent conditions, marking a significant departure from previous approaches to drug regulation.

Drug enforcement officers seized a large amount of contraband, including narcotics and various banned electronic devices, during a raid at Athens' Korydallos Prison on Wednesday.

Two inmates, aged 31 and 44, were arrested after targeted searches were carried out on 45 cells.

Greece should revise its legal framework to either minimise penalties or fully decriminalize soft drugs to reduce the burden on the judicial and prison system, among other benefits, according to a study by the Center for Liberal Studies (KEFiM), in collaboration with the European network Epicenter. 

The police's anti-drugs squad arrested on Wednesday a 22-year-old man at the port town of Rafina, eastern Attica, for carrying 600 grams of cannabis in a backpack. 

The drugs were hidden in a homemade package. The man, a foreign national, also lacked legal residence documents. 

Police said it is searching for a second suspect believed to be working with the 22-year-old. 

Two men, aged 63 and 34, have been arrested in the southern Peloponnese city of Kalamata for the illicit possession and trafficking of drugs and weapons, authorities said on Monday.

A 22-year-old Greek woman was arrested in Athens on Thursday after importing cannabis from the US, reported the Hellenic Police on Sunday. 

The woman was arrested after receiving a suspicious package from the US, containing approximately 1.5 kilograms of raw cannabis. 

A 16-year-old girl remains in critical condition after she was hospitalized last week at the General Hospital of Athens Korgialeneio - Benakeio Hellenic Red Cross from drug use. On Tuesday morning, six people relating to the incident were arrested for drug trafficking.

A 71-year-old man was arrested in the Drapetsona area near Piraeus after more than 4.5 kilograms of cocaine were found in his possession.

According to the police, officers from the Patra Narcotics Division located the suspect at his residence based on gathered intelligence.

Police in Kilkis, northern Greece, seized over 43 kilograms of cannabis that was being smuggled into the country from the Balkans by car, according to an announcement on Thursday.

The car's driver was arrested following a chase, though no details have been released regarding his identity.

Police on the popular holiday island of Mykonos busted up a party at a villa and arrested 15 people on a slew of charges, including drug violations and noise pollution, according to an announcement on Tuesday.
