A group of 11 NATO countries pledged new military aid to Ukraine

A group of 11 NATO countries, including Britain and Poland, pledged new military aid to support Ukraine's war with Russia on Thursday, a day before a key arms meeting for Kyiv scheduled for Friday in Germany.

Ankara covertly sends 42 German Leopard-2A4 tanks to occupied Cyprus

As the klieg lights of international attention were turned toward Turkey's illegal activity in the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of the Republic of Cyprus, Ankara in a secret operation transported 42 German Leopard-2A4 supertanks tanks to Kythrea in Turkish-occupied northern Cyprus.

Council charges 11 suspects over tank deal

Eleven people, including former Defense Ministry officials and arms trader Thomas Liakounakos, are to face trial on charges of breach of faith in connection with the procurement of 170 Leopard 2 tanks from German company Krauss-Maffei Wegmann when Socialist stalwart Yiannos Papantoniou was minister between 2001 and 2003.

Germany defends export of tanks to Qatar

Germany defended on Oct. 23 a decision to allow the export of tanks and artillery to Qatar, saying it was confident the arms would not be used in a war in Yemen between government supporters and the Iran-allied Houthis. 

The newspaper Sueddeutsche Zeitung reported on Oct. 23 that four German Leopard 2 tanks and three howitzers had recently been shipped from Germany, bound for Qatar.
