A Skai journalist recently alleged that a foreign member of a nongovernment organization based on the eastern Aegean island of Lesvos told him he could not take pictures inside the Moria reception center without the organization's permission.

Two teens hurt amid tensions at Moria migrant camp

Two Afghan teenagers were in the hospital on the northeastern Aegean island of Lesvos on Wednesday following scuffles in the island's severely overcrowded refugee reception center of Moria.

A 15-year-old was in critical condition while the injuries of his 16-year-old compatriot were said to be less serious. It appears that the two incidents were not related.

Mayors to petition PM over migration

Following a day of protests on Lesvos, Chios and Samos against the mounting pressure of irregular migration on the islands, the regional governor for the Northern Aegean, Kostas Moutzouris, and the mayors of the three islands are due in Athens on Thursday to deliver a petition to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis calling for a swift resolution to the problem. 

Islanders protest against overcrowding in migrant camps, slow processing

Residents of the islands of Lesvos, Chios and Samos on Wednesday held public protests against what they said is the negative impact of the migration crisis on their communities and on North Aegean islands at large, which is home to the most congested reception and identification facilities - also known as hotspots.
