Tourists in Indonesia will continue to enjoy the beauty of one of the most popular islands - Komodo. Jakarta authorities have canceled plans to ban tourists' access to the island by 2020.

The county's maritime affairs minister, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said that the number of tourists will be rather limited .

The powerful quake is 7.0 on the Richter scale - prompting terrified holidaymakers at the tourist hotspot to scramble for safety. 

Model Chrissy Teigen, who is on holiday on the island with husband John Legend, told her 10.6million Twitter fans how she walked outside naked clutching her newborn baby Miles as the tremor hit.

SEMBALUN, Indonesia (AP) — Hundreds of tourists stranded on Mount Rinjani on the Indonesian island of Lombok by an earthquake that killed 16 people and triggered landslides are making their way off the mountain, shaken by their experience but mostly unharmed, an official said Monday.

Indonesia mounted a rescue operation on July 30 to reach more than 500 hikers and guides stranded by landslides on an active volcano on Lombok, a day after a powerful earthquake struck the holiday island.

Bali’s palm-fringed Kuta beach has long been a favorite with tourists seeking sun and surf, but nowadays its golden shoreline is disappearing under a mountain of garbage.

Mount Agung volcano in the Indonesian resort island of Bali on Friday spewed an ash column up to 2 km above the crater, according to authorities.

Dozens of Bulgarians are blocked on the tourist island of Bali because of the eruption of Agung volcano, bTV reported.

A spokesman for the airport said there are no volcanic ash on the slopes yet, but the observations show that it rises to over 7600 meters in height and points to the airport south and southwest.
