In the yard of Vasil Levski Primary School in Razgrad today will be opened the first "Small Free Library". The initiative is by Calvin Page, an English language teacher in Los Angeles, California, and is being co-hosted with children from the Bulgarian Hristo Botev School in Washington and students from the Razgrad School.

The celebrations on the occasion of the 145th anniversary of the death of Vasil Levski began all over the country. Late last night in his hometown of Karlovo, people have bowed their heads in deep appreciation to the work of the Apostle Freedom. Levski's memory was honored with one-minute silence.

Restrictions on the traffic in the center of Sofia are being introduced today by Sofia Municipality, because of the 145th anniversary of the death of the Bulgarian hero and Fighter for Freedom Vasil Levski.

Bulgarians gathered in front of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church of Saint Dimiter in the city of Brampton, Ontario, on Sunday to celebrate the unveiling of a monument to Bulgaria's most beloved national hero Vasil Levski, the first erected in Canada.

The first monument of Vasil Levski in Canada was officially opened on 29 October 2017 in the yard of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church of St. Dimitar in Brampton, the Bulgarian Horizons newspaper reported.

The first dig for the construction of a monument of Vasil Levski was made in the courtyard of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church "St Dimitar" in Brampton, a city-satellite of Toronto, the Bulgarian Horizons newspaper reported on Facebook.

On July 18th, at 21.00, a solemn ceremony followed by fireworks display will take place at the Vasil Levski Square.It will be attended by Bulgaria's President Roumen Radev: Vice President Ilyiana Yotova and Deputy Chief of Defense, Lieutenant General Plamen Atanasov, according to BNT. 

''Vasil Levski is a phenomenon beyond time, he is not fixed on history pages or in the granite of monuments, but he is inspiring'', said the Bulgarian head of state Rumen Radev at the unveiling of a monument to Levski at Military Academy G.S.Rakovski, Sofia, according to the President's website.

The celebrations in Karlovo city on the anniversary of the birth of the Apostle Vasil Levski will culminate on July 17 and 18, deputy mayor Anton Minev said, quoted by Focus News Agency. 

An award ceremony and a concert are scheduled for the evening of July 17.
