Prosecutor investigates MP over airport assault
Athens Prosecutor Antonis Eleftherianos has ordered a preliminary investigation into former minister and New Democracy MP Lefteris Avgenakis after footage emerged showing him assaulting an airport employee.

A statement explaining his behavior towards a worker at the airport “Eleftherios Venizelos” was issued on Wednesday morning by the MP and former minister of the Southwest, Lefteris Avgenakis, after the video came to light.

Civil Aviation extends flight restrictions through Aug. 31
A new notice to airmen issued by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Wednesday extends travel bans with Balkan and European countries through August 31, to protect passengers and residents of Greece from a rise in new coronavirus cases.
According to the notice:
- Flights between Greece and Turkey remain suspended to August 31 (midnight).

Anglo-Hellenism was a Liberal construct, with its roots in the 19th century, but it became recognizable as such only after the Balkan Wars. Many British Liberals were impressed by Greek Prime Minister Eleftherios Venizelos at the London Conference in 1912-1913, and showed a strong desire to keep his government aligned with his British counterpart H.H. Asquith's Liberal government.
