Lilyana Pavlova Appointed Vice President and a Member of the Management Committee of the EIB

Former Minister for the Bulgarian Presidency of the EU Council Lilyana Pavlova has been appointed vice president and a member of the Management Committee of the European Investment Bank, BNR reports.

She is the first Vice-President of the Bank of Bulgaria, with a three-year term of office.

Bulgaria's Parliament approved the resignations of Liliyana Pavlova and Volen Siderov as MPs.

On 5 June 2019 Pavlova submitted her resignation because the Cabinet nominated her to become a vice-president of the European Investment Bank, because of her valuable experience in financial and project management, as well as cooperation with European institutions.

Mariya Gabriel has given up the post in the European Parliament, NOVA said. Thus, the sixth member of GERB, who goes to Brussels, becomes Lilyana Pavlova.

Mariya Gabriel gathered the most serious preferential vote and took the first position of the GERB MEPs for the EP. The party won a total of six seats.

The Bulgarian National Assembly adopted a resolution to close the Ministry for Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union and to relieve Minister Lilyana Pavlova of her duties as cabinet member, reported the Bulgarian National Television.
