Commission approves major investment for Athens metro
The European Commission on Tuesday approved an investment of more than 10 million euros from the Cohesion Fund for the renovation of 14 trains used on Athens metro system's Line 1, which runs from Piraeus to Kifissia through several Athens neighborhoods.
Piraeus Line 3 metro station closed this weekend
The Piraeus Line 3 metro station (blue line) will be closed on Saturday and Sunday (April 6-7) to allow for the installation of new e-ticket equipment.
The station will reopen Monday.
The closure will not affect the operation of the Piraeus Line 1 metro station (green line).

ISAP station reopens after bomb threat closure
The Athens-Piraeus Electric Railway (ISAP) station in the southern Kallithea district was temporarily closed on Thursday due to a bomb threat. The station has resumed operations.
A bomb disposal unit has rushed to the scene.

Public transport to clock out early on New Year’s Eve
Public transportation in Athens will clock out earlier than usual on New Year's Eve with most services ending by midnight, operators have said.
Trolley buses and regular buses will begin heading back to their depots after 10 p.m., meaning there will be no services after 11 p.m.
Woman killed after falling on ISAP train tracks in Athens
Police in Athens are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman who fell onto the tracks at Victoria station on the capital's ISAP electric railway line on Monday morning.
ISAP, also known as Line 1 of the Athens metro, is currently out of service between Omonia and Attiki stations.
No other details are available at this stage.
Man’s body recovered from metro tracks in Athens
Rescuers have recovered the body of a man who fell onto the tracks of an Athens metro station.
Six firefighters attended the scene at Kallithea station, which is on green Line 1.
The circumstances of the incident remain unclear.
During the operation, services were temporarily suspended at the station.

Less service on metro, tram as summer schedule enters into force
Τhe frequency of Athens' trains will slow down for the summer holiday season starting July 10, according to Metro operator STASY.
Athens transport slows down for Easter
There will be changes in the frequency of public transport services in the Greek capital during the Easter holidays, the Athens Urban Transport Organization (OASA) announced.
Buses and trolleys will operate on Holy Saturday as on every other Saturday but all drives will have pulled into their depots by 11 p.m.

Athens metro and tram holding stoppage on Wednesday
