Gaming act changes pass second reading in parliament

Ljubljana – The National Assembly approved at second reading on Wednesday the amendments to the gaming act, which aim to liberalise the gaming market in Slovenia by scrapping most curbs on casino ownership and employee licensing and allow five instead of just two lottery organisers. The final vote on the changes will be held in March.

Ljubljana – Slovenia has a new millionaire, as a lucky winner from Slovenia scooped over EUR 11 million in Eurojackpot, a syndicated lotto game featuring several European lotteries, on Friday evening. The winning combination for a total of EUR 11,134,617 was 5, 21, 23, 29 and 35, with the additional numbers of 7 and 9, Loterija Slovenija said.

Moody’s: Intralot's lottery sale a credit positive

Rating agency Moody's commented on Monday that the sale by Intralot of a 16.5 percent in lottery company Ellinika Lachia to main stakeholder OPAP is a credit positive for Intralot, and that the price of 20 million euros will go a long way toward improving its liquidity, which to date was seen as "weak," according to the agency.
